Artist Carlos Páez Vilaró built this beautiful atelier-residence around an old tin house called La Pionera.

Its architectural style is unique, reminiscent of Mediterranean construction though the artist refers to the abilities of the hornero - a typically Uruguayan bird which builds a sophisticated mud nest – when describing the type of building.

Innumerable personalities from the cultural and political world have visited Casapueblo.

Full or rooms, passages and internal roads, every corner of its is soaked in the history of Punta del Este.
