The Piriápolis Casino is located in the mythical Argentino Hotel.
Francisco Piria had it built in 1920, and it was inaugurated on 24 December 1924, being at the time the largest and plushest in South America.
It has 350 rooms, and accommodation capacity for 900 persons.
It was bought by the government from Piria’s heirs in 1942.
Nowadays it is privately exploited, and it offers a luxurious spa, and it is open all year round.
The casino has classic roulette, black jack and baccarat tables, and a wide variety of slot machines.
