The Punta del Este Police Station, known as the 10th, is in charge of security on the peninsula and in the surrounding residential areas.
Its installations include an older building that houses the highway patrol headquarters.
Punta del Este is a very safe city in general.
During the summer police reinforcements are brought in, mainly for the traffic and to patrol the residential areas. Police cars are small, blue or white and easily recognizable.
