The Uruguayan Post has been modernized recently with the introduction of the international T&T system, which allows for the full follow-up of mail from its dispatch to the receiving end.

In Uruguay you can only buy stamps from the post offices, so even though there are mailboxes at regular intervals in the center of town and in all urban centers it is easier to drop into the post office.

It is also possible to phone and request for your local postman to pick up your mail.

Most of the better-known international couriers have representatives in Punta del Este, and there are many local private couriers.
