The weather station of Punta del Este dates from the first decade of this century.
Antonio Mrak, onetime owner of the premises, began observations from his home, carefully recording his conclusions.
Ten years later the state took over from him, making Punta del Este one of the oldest weather stations in Uruguay.
Its systems are fully automatic nowadays, and connected to the Uruguayan weather stations network.
