Cuartel de Dragones

This military construction, built in 1771, was the barracks of the Dragons or Blandengues troops.

It consists of a series of rooms and a chapel around a great patio.

National hero General José Artigas overnighted there in 1797, when he was in the Blandengues.

At present it is a museum, where exhibitions and sometimes wedding ceremonies are held.
