Arboreto Lussich

This impressive reserve is the fruit of the tireless efforts of pioneer Antonio Lussich, with its more than 350 exotic species and some 70 native ones.

There are eucalyptus and pines from all over the world, and is considered the seventh in importance in its type in the world, and the second in South America.

The Arboretum consists of 2.000 hectares, 193 of which are under the care of the Municipality since 1980.

You can drive up to the lookout on the hill, and enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramas you have seen in your life: the forest, Solanas Beach, the Piriápolis hills.

Antonio Lussich’s old house is a museum at present, and is full of testimonials of the life of this original character, who was among other things a remarkable writer and the director of a ship rescue company.

Guided tours are available, only in Spanish.
