Air access to Punta del Este
Punta del Este is connected to the rest of the world via the airports of Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Laguna del Sauce.
Traditionally the greatest volume of tourists comes from Buenos Aires, so the busiest routes are the so-called
shuttles (Buenos Aires-Montevideo and Buenos Aires-Punta del Este).
These routes are served by the companies Aerolineas Argentinas and by Pluna.
Many charters come in from Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre in Brazil, and this tendency is expected to extend to other
countries of the region, as Paraguay and Chile.
