Travel to Punta del Este
| Air access | Maritime access | Route access |
Punta del Este receives nearly 300.000 visitors every summer.
The vast majority - close to 70% - come from Argentina and the rest are from Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay and the rest
of the world.
For this reason the infrastructure of the city is oriented towards the Argentine market, but due to the sustained
growth of tourists from other areas there has been a large investment at the Airport, and the accesses to the
peninsula have been improved.
It is not necessary for foreign visitors to carry out any special paperwork. Citizens from the Mercosur - Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay – need
only their identity document.
Minors travelling alone must comply with the migration rules of their country of origin, which generally consists
of written permission signed by both parents.
Uruguayan sanitary laws strictly enforce the rule which forbids the entry of foodstuff.
You will be given a declaration to fill upon arrival, stating that you carry no food products with you.
